Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

1 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup roasted Hatch green chilies, diced

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier clean-up.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked breakfast sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, diced Hatch green chilies, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Use your hands to flatten each biscuit into a round disc, about 1/4 inch thick.

Fill the Dough: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture into the center of each biscuit disc. Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal the biscuit and form a ball. Ensure they're securely closed to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.

Egg Wash: Place the filled biscuit bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with the beaten egg using a pastry brush to give them a golden-brown finish while baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the biscuit bombs are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh chopped cilantro before serving for an added burst of freshness.

Enjoy: Serve these delightful breakfast biscuit bombs warm for a delicious start to your day or as a tasty snack!
