Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

Juice of 1 lime

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Avocado Crema:

1 ripe avocado

½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

Juice of 1 lime

1 small garlic clove, minced

Salt to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

For the Tacos:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded red cabbage

1 cup diced tomatoes

½ cup chopped fresh cilantro

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss until they are well coated. Marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Make the Avocado Crema: In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), lime juice, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning as needed. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a splash of water or additional lime juice. Set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Remove from heat.

Warm the Tortillas: While the shrimp are cooking, warm the tortillas. You can do this by placing them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or wrapping them in foil and heating in a warm oven.

Assemble the Tacos: On each tortilla, layer the shredded red cabbage, cooked shrimp, diced tomatoes, and a generous dollop of avocado crema. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy your zesty shrimp tacos fresh, allowing everyone to customize their toppings as they wish!
