Ingredients

4 medium sweet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Sweet Potatoes: Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Cut them into thick slices (about ½ inch) or wedges, depending on your preference.

Create the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a paste.

Coat the Sweet Potatoes: Add the sweet potato slices to the mixing bowl and toss them until they are well coated with the marinade. Let them sit for about 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are glowing red and covered with white ash.

Grill the Sweet Potatoes: Place the sweet potato slices directly on the grill grate. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until char marks appear. Flip them over and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side, or until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

Serve: Remove the sweet potatoes from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh cilantro, if desired, and serve with lime wedges for an extra zing.

Enjoy: Serve your Smoky Grilled Sweet Potatoes warm as a side dish or a delightful addition to salads and bowls.
