Ingredients

2 cups pretzel rods, broken into pieces

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

1 cup soft caramel candies

1/4 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon sea salt (plus more for sprinkling)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds or pecans)

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Sheet:

Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal. Set aside.

      Melt the Chocolates:

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

          Spread the Chocolate Layer:

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly to cover the bottom. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove air bubbles. Place in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to set.

              Prepare the Caramel:

In a small saucepan, combine the soft caramel candies and heavy cream. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the caramels have melted completely and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.

                  Assemble the Bark:

Once the chocolate layer has set, remove it from the refrigerator. Sprinkle the broken pretzel pieces evenly over the chocolate layer, pressing down gently. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the pretzels, spreading it evenly across the top.

                      Finish with More Chocolate:

Return the remaining melted chocolate (if there’s any) to the microwave to warm slightly if it has set. Drizzle or pour it over the caramel pretzel layer. Use a spatula to swirl the layers for a marbled effect.

Add Extra Salt & Optional Nuts:

Sprinkle an additional pinch of sea salt over the top. If using nuts, scatter them evenly on top of the bark as well.

                              Chill and Set:

Place the bark in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour until fully set.

                                  Cut and Serve:

Once set, lift the bark out of the pan using the overhanging parchment paper. Break or cut into pieces of your desired size.

                                      Store:

Store the salted caramel pretzel bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
