Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped (optional)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. You may add fresh thyme or rosemary if desired for an extra depth of flavor.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure each piece is well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes (or up to 1 hour for more flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Bake the Salmon: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the marinated salmon fillets on the sheet, skin-side down, and spoon any remaining marinade over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Broil for Extra Glaze (Optional): For a caramelized finish, switch to the broiler setting and broil the salmon for an additional 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Serve: Remove from the oven, transfer the salmon to plates, and drizzle with any pan juices. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
