1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup (150g) semisweet chocolate chips

10 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped

8 Oreo cookies, whole, for topping

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

    Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until well combined and creamy. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well mixed.

        Combine Wet and Dry: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The batter should be thick and fudgy.

          Add Chocolate Chips and Oreos: Stir in the semisweet chocolate chips and the chopped Oreo cookies, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.

            Pour and Decorate: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Gently press the whole Oreo cookies into the top of the batter for decoration.

              Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).

                Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes. Use the parchment overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan, and let them cool completely before cutting into squares.
