Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (flaky-style)

1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup ketchup

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the finely chopped onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Mix the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Combine: Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked meat and vegetables. Stir until everything is evenly coated and heated through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Biscuit Cups: Open the can of biscuit dough and separate it into individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit in your hand and then place it into a greased muffin tin, pressing down gently to form a cup.

Fill the Cups: Spoon the sloppy joe mixture into each biscuit cup, filling them almost to the top.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each filled biscuit cup.

Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the muffin tin from the oven. Let the cups cool for a few minutes before gently removing them from the tin. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Enjoy: Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or a fun twist on dinner!
