Honey Almond Tea Buns

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup almond flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup honey

1 large egg

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 cup sliced almonds (for topping)

Extra honey (for drizzling)

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well mixed.

      Incorporate Butter: Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

        Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, honey, egg, and almond extract until smooth.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing; the dough should be slightly sticky.

            Form the Buns: Use a floured surface to turn out the dough. Gently knead it just until it comes together. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
