Ingredients

4 large round bread rolls (sourdough or ciabatta work well)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1 cup mixed salad greens, chopped (for filling)

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (for filling)

Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Bread: Carefully slice the tops off the bread rolls and hollow out the insides using a small knife and spoon, creating a bowl. Be sure to leave enough bread around the edges for stability.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.

Spread the Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture inside and on the outer surfaces of the hollowed bread bowls.

Add Cheese: Place the bread bowls upside down on a baking sheet. Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese inside each bowl.

Bake: Bake the bread bowls in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the outside is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Prepare the Filling: While the bread bowls are baking, toss the chopped salad greens and cherry tomatoes in a bowl. Drizzle with your favorite dressing to taste.

Assemble: Once the bread bowls are done, remove them from the oven and let cool for a minute. Fill each bowl with the tossed salad and top with a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

Serve: Serve immediately while they are warm and crispy, delighting everyone with the delicious aroma and flavors of garlic and fresh ingredients.
