Ingredients

8 oz (about 225g) elbow macaroni or any pasta of choice

1 lb (450g) ground beef

2 large onions, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp thyme (dried or fresh)

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp butter

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Once melted, add the sliced onions. Cook slowly, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelized and browned (about 15-20 minutes).

Brown the Beef: Push the onions to one side of the skillet, then add the ground beef. Break it apart and brown it until fully cooked. Stir in the minced garlic for the last 2 minutes of cooking.

Combine Ingredients: Once the beef is cooked, stir in the caramelized onions, then add the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Mix in Pasta: Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet and mix well, ensuring all pasta is coated with the beef and onion mixture.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch (or equivalent) baking dish. Spread it evenly.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the Gruyère and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the pasta. Finish with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once removed from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
