3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

    Mash the bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.

      Mix in the butter: Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined.

        Add the dry ingredients: Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture and stir to combine.

          Incorporate sugar, egg, and vanilla: Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract into the mixture and stir until just blended.

            Add flour: Gently fold in the flour until no streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips at this stage.

              Pour into the pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.

                Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                  Cool down: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

                    Slice and enjoy: Once cooled, slice and serve your delicious, moist banana bread. Enjoy it plain or with butter!
