½ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 cup rolled oats

¾ cup all-purpose flour

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss until the apples are well-coated.

Assemble the Apple Layer: Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Make the Oat Topping: In a separate bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Drizzle the melted butter over the mixture and stir until combined and crumbly.

Top the Apples: Evenly spread the oat topping over the apple filling in the baking dish.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Allow the apple crisp to cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
