Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

6 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish (around 9x9 inches).

      Cook the Shrimp:

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Remove from heat and set aside.

          Make the Garlic Sauce:

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Be careful not to burn the garlic.

              Prepare the Cream Mixture:

Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until melted and well combined. Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

                  Combine Shrimp and Sauce:

Add the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the garlic cream mixture, along with half of the chopped parsley. Stir gently to combine.

                      Assemble the Gratin:

Pour the shrimp and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish. In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with a drizzle of olive oil and the remaining parsley. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the shrimp.

                          Bake:

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

                              Serve:

Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping and garnish with extra parsley if desired.
