Ingredients

1 pound white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

2 cups shredded green cabbage

1 avocado, sliced

1 lime, cut into wedges

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Your favorite hot sauce, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Cut them into strips, about 1 inch wide. Season the fish with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Set Up Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first one, whisked eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs in the third.

Bread the Fish: Dredge each fish strip in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the breadcrumbs. Ensure the fish is fully covered for that crunchy exterior.

Bake the Fish: Arrange the breaded fish strips on the prepared baking sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray to help them crisp up in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

Warm the Tortillas: During the last few minutes of baking, wrap your tortillas in aluminum foil and place them in the oven to warm for about 5 minutes.

Assemble the Tacos: To build your tacos, place a few pieces of crispy fish on the warmed tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, a few slices of avocado, and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Serve: Serve with lime wedges and your favorite hot sauce for a zesty kick. Enjoy your crispy oven-baked fish tacos with friends and family!
