14 oz (400g) firm tofu, pressed and drained

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)

1/2 cup plant-based milk (almond or soy)

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp salt

Cooking spray or olive oil for misting

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes or nuggets.

    Create the Breading Stations:

      - In one bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.

        - In a second bowl, mix the plant-based milk and soy sauce together.

          - In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

            Coat the Tofu:

              - Dip each tofu piece first into the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

                - Next, dip it into the plant-based milk mixture until it's coated.

                  - Finally, roll it in the breadcrumbs, pressing slightly to adhere. Repeat for all tofu pieces.

                    Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

                      Air Fry the Nuggets:

                        - Arrange the breaded tofu nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

                          - Lightly mist the nuggets with cooking spray or olive oil for extra crispiness.

                            - Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the nuggets are golden brown and crispy.

                              Serve: Once cooked, remove the tofu nuggets from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or a vegan ranch dressing.
