Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or your pasta of choice

1 lb ground beef

2 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 cup of frozen peas or sautéed mushrooms for added flavor and texture

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Aromatics: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Italian seasoning. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes, then gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta and frozen peas or sautéed mushrooms (if using) to the skillet, tossing everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper as needed.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately, with extra Parmesan on the side if desired.
