Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon fresh orange zest

1/4 cup fresh orange juice

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the Butters and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

Add Eggs and Flavorings: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract, orange zest, and fresh orange juice until combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well mixed.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the white chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed in the dough.

Scoop the Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked – this is okay as they will firm up as they cool.

Cool and Dust (Optional): Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.

Serve: Enjoy these delightful creamsicle orange cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
