Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, based on preference)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Whisk until well combined and slightly cooled. Then, add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until the flour is fully incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate and Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and the chopped nuts, if using, ensuring an even distribution throughout the batter.

Bake: Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool: Remove from the oven and let the blondies cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes. If you used parchment paper, lift the blondies out of the pan for easier cooling.

Slice and Serve: Once cooled, cut into squares or bars. Serve alone or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
