Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 cup broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Rice: If using uncooked rice, prepare it according to package instructions. Set aside once cooked.

Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the Ground Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high, then add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 6-8 minutes.

Season the Beef: Stir in the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Add Broccoli: If using fresh broccoli, steam it lightly in a separate pot until bright green and tender (about 3-4 minutes). If using frozen, simply stir it into the beef mixture and cook until heated through.

Combine Ingredients: Once the broccoli is ready, add it to the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir until combined.

Mix in the Rice: Add the cooked rice to the skillet, stirring everything together. Make sure the rice is well mixed with the beef and broccoli mixture.

Add Cheese: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mixture. Stir gently until the cheese melts and all ingredients are well combined.

Serve: Portion the cheesy beef and broccoli rice mixture into bowls. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired.

Enjoy Your Meal: Serve hot and enjoy your delicious and comforting cheesy beef and broccoli rice bowls!
