For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Prepare the Brownie Layer: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Let it cool slightly.

      Mix in Eggs and Vanilla: Once the mixture is comfortable to touch, beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

        Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined (do not overmix).

          Make the Cheesecake Layer: In a separate mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Beat until smooth. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and flour. Mix until creamy and well blended.

            Layering: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly. Next, gently spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie batter. Finally, dollop the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a spatula to create a marbled effect.

              Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (it shouldn’t be wet).
