Ingredients

1 large round loaf of bread (sourdough or round artisan bread)

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

12 strips of crispy bacon, crumbled

1/4 cup ranch dressing

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Bread: Using a serrated knife, carefully cut diagonal slits into the bread loaf, creating a crosshatch pattern. Make sure not to cut all the way through the bottom of the loaf; you want to keep it whole.

Make the Bacon and Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, crumbled bacon, ranch dressing, garlic, parsley, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.

Stuff the Bread: Gently pry open the cuts in the bread and generously stuff the cheese and bacon mixture into each slit. Make sure to get some filling deep into the slits.

Brush with Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the loaf, ensuring it seeps into the slits and coats the surface lightly.

Wrap in Foil: Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil to prevent it from burning, and place it on a baking sheet.

Bake: Place the bread in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let the bread cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped chives for a pop of color, and serve warm. Enjoy pulling apart the cheesy, bacon-filled goodness!
