BBQ Bacon Cheddar Chicken

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)

8 strips of crispy cooked bacon, crumbled

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Prepare Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable bag or bowl. Season them with garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge for deeper flavor).

      Cook Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, add the marinated chicken breasts and sear for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

        Add BBQ Sauce: Pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken in the skillet, making sure to coat each piece evenly.

          Top with Bacon and Cheese: Scatter the crumbled bacon over the sauced chicken, followed by the shredded cheddar topping.

            Bake: Transfer the skillet (if oven-safe) or place the chicken in a baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbling and melted.

              Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, slice, and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side if desired.
