4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Optional: 1/2 cup coconut flakes

Prepare the bananas: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice and set aside to minimize browning.

    Make the crumble topping: In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well mixed.

      Add wet ingredients: Pour the melted butter and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients mixture. Stir until the mixture is crumbly and the oats and flour are evenly coated. If using, fold in the chopped nuts and coconut flakes.

        Assemble the dish: In a greased 9x9 inch baking dish, spread the sliced bananas evenly across the bottom. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the bananas, ensuring even coverage.

          Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
