Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1/2 cup milk (whole or almond)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for coating)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini muffin pan or use a silicone donut hole mold.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using) until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing; some lumps are okay.

Fill the Pan: Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, fill each cavity of the greased muffin pan or silicone mold about 3/4 full with the batter.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating: While the donut holes are baking, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon in a small bowl. In another small bowl, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

Coat the Donut Holes: Once the donut holes are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes. Then, dip each one first in melted butter and then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Serve: Serve the donut holes warm and enjoy!
