Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole

1 lb ground beef

4 strips of bacon, chopped

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup sour cream

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

1/4 cup diced pickles (optional)

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Cook Bacon and Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until it’s crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving the bacon drippings in the skillet.

      Sauté Vegetables and Meat: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Then, add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

        Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese soup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

          Layer the Casserole: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly in the dish. Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.

            Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
