Ingredients

12 fresh jalapeño peppers

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Olive oil spray

Instructions

Prepare the Jalapeños: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat if desired.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon (if using), green onions, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix until well blended and creamy.

Fill the Peppers: Using a spoon, generously fill each half of the jalapeño with the cheese mixture. Be sure to pack it in well, creating a slight mounding effect on top if you can.

Prepare for Frying: In a shallow dish, add the panko breadcrumbs. Gently press the filled jalapeños into the panko, coating the tops and sides to create a crunchy exterior.

Air Frying: Place the jalapeño poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil to help them crisp up during cooking. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until the poppers are golden brown and the cheese appears bubbly.

Serve: Carefully remove the jalapeño poppers from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or sour cream, if desired.
