Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Cooking spray or olive oil (for air frying)

Optional: Chocolate sauce for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Add the Dry Ingredients: Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the flour and baking powder until a dough forms. Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes.

Shape the Chips: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). On a clean, floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into small triangle or square shapes.

Air Fry the Chips: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place a single layer of dough pieces in the basket, ensuring they aren’t overlapping. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: While the churro chips are baking, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the ground cinnamon in a shallow dish. Once the chips are done, remove them from the air fryer and promptly toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Cool and Serve: Allow the churro chips to cool for a few minutes on a wire rack. Serve alone or with chocolate sauce for dipping!
